Sunday night, June 14th, we get home early evening, wife and I, after dropping three of the kids off at various camps around the state. My 40th b-day was June 15th.
She keep saying I am going to give you your present when we get home. Was thinking one thing and she totally totally surprised me with drum roll Saturday and Sunday tickets to Rothbury. I was totally shocked. We had plans to camp with the family and other friends that week and weekend of 4th of July.
Granma is watching the kids and dog and we are going to get down and freak out one more time. Had already made up mind I was not going to spend the money and let it go at that.
Anyone else here going?

Having a wife that understands your flaws and feeds them anyway is my kind of woman. Congrats!

Hey Northstar are you from the northstar ski resort Lake Tahoe area. Just curious because I lived around there for a year in 89-90 and still have hometown friends out there who've made it there home.

Hey Baron - Do you know Wayne or Belle from up on Donner Summit? Wayne's a painter and Belle used to work at a local restaurant/grocery store.

Just curious. My buddy Joe moved up the mountain in about 1993 and lived there for several years cooking for CalTrans and pickin' bluegrass.

Can't say that I do, 93 is after my time there and I lived in Kings Beach and Alpine Village , but my buddy James L still Works at Rosies Bar, kind of a landmark in Tahoe City, so they may know him. Did some Rock climbing in Donner once though, very beautiful place.

BTW Forgot to say Happy Birthday to Northstar in my last post so here it is. Take it from me I've been over 40 for over a month now and it's not so bad so far. Happy trails

Have you seen Dire? You know, HF was the first to recognize that Dire was really the BK guy...you know the one in the commercials?

Really creepy if you ask me.

That is one great advertising campaign.
No, I had not heard about Dire. You telling me he is the king?

Yep! It's a little known fact that because he was King somebody nominated me as Prime Minister, and the rest as they say, is history. Or maybe they meant I am history? Must have been the fall of 06 or so...

So, the point was that someone posted a link for a vid clip or some such of the King, er, Dire, riding a bike or doing some shit, and it really creeped all of us out. There was a cow involved at some level, and it kinda gave him away. I think that DBears was Queen too...
